This subwoofer amplifer kit boosts the low frequency range from 25Hz to 200Hz to produce 48 Watts of thumping base.
The subwoofer amplifier kit consists of a buffer circuit on the input, followed by a low pass filter circuit. The filter output then feeds the class A-B 48 Watt power amplifier.
The low pass filter circuit contains one potentiometer to adjust the input level, and a second potentiometer to adjust the frequency range between 20Hz and 200Hz.
The power amplifier section can drive a 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm speaker. Overload protection is built into the circuit.
The subwoofer amplifier kit requires a power supply with an output of +/-35VDC. This can be made with a 48 Volt center tapped transformer, a bridge rectifier, and a couple of 470mF electrolyte capacitors. A 50 Watt low range or full range speaker and a case are also required. See related items below for recommended parts.
The subwoofer amplifier kit can be used for home stereos, computers, kiosks and anywhere you need deep bass.
