This 16 LED light chaser makes a great display for decoration. Four LEDs in a line light up and spin around in a windmill motion. The speed of the display is adjustable with a variable potentiometer.
The 16 LED light chaser is driven by a 555 timer which controls the speed. The 555 timer drives a 4017 decade counter which is wired to count from 0 to 3. Four outputs then drive the 16 LEDs. Each output drives four LEDs.
Power supply 9 - 12 Volts DC. A 9 Volt battery can be used, or a 9VDC, 200mA AC Adapter. For battery operation a 9 Volt battery clip will be required. The kit can fit into our project box FB04. See recommended items below for these items.
